For a number of years, 1st Line Defence have held the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) verification – to provide assurance to our clients that we are a qualified, safe and capable provider of Site Investigation Services on the UK rail network.
As the number of rail projects we work on continues to grow, we are pleased to announce that we have now been audited by RISQS, fully proving and ensuring that our systems and operations meet the necessary safety, quality and competence criteria to work within the rail industry.
The audit was thorough and we passed without any observations or non-conformances, and received compliments for our robust systems, clear processes and the business management system. This accomplishment reaffirms our status as a trusted and reliable partner within the rail industry, and is testament to the hard work and diligence of all the team at 1st Line Defence.

What is RISQS?
RISQS is the certifying body for any suppliers working throughout the UK rail industry. It is a key accreditation which allows qualified companies to work on the rail infrastructure, including Network Rail and London Underground.
RISQS gives buyers a comprehensive view of the supply chain, enabling them to find the right suppliers, with the right capabilities – at the right time. Using the RISQS platform, customers in the rail sector can search by product, service, skills, size and location – as well as safety and quality credentials.
For suppliers who pass the audit, like ourselves, it proves to potential buyers that we are able to fulfil their needs in a quality driven and safe environment – and it removes the time consuming need to conduct their own audits.
