1st Line Defence have recently been providing UXO Disposal services for our client on a site located in Southampton to investigate for items of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO).
EOD operatives were dispatched to the site and following our investigations, multiple items of UXO were discovered – including Naval Projectiles and 20mm Cannon rounds.
Following inspection by our EOD team, the items were flagged and identified as LIVE items of ordnance, and were safely disposed of on-site by 1st Line Defence.
This is an on-going project and we are continuing to support our client until the risk from UXO is as low and reasonably practicable (ALARP), and it will be interesting to see what else is found.
